With over several thousand incremental encoder variations, it’s almost impossible for manufacturers and distributors to hold each type of encoder on stock to satisfy OEM, end user or breakdown requirements.
Encoder manufacturers will almost certainly have to produce each individual encoder every time an order is placed; lead times are often dependent upon parts availability and production capacity, this is often the case as to why the delivery of your encoder takes some time.
So here’s the great news…
SICK has introduced a new 60mm diameter encoder to the market, designed to be compatible with almost all incremental rotary encoder requirements. No longer do you have to wait for your encoder to be produced, you can now buy one version and program it yourself, just order the one type of mechanical design whether solid or hollow shaft, and simply program it with the hand or PC based programming tool.
The encoder can be re-programmed over and over again, so if isn’t quite right… Well not a problem, just re-program it again, it’s that simple!
